Joseph Joseph products, what can I say ! Absolutely divine. Inspired design and colour combinations. You will not want to hide these beautiful items away in a cupboard.
We were recently sent the Nest Mix and Nest measure to review. This actually raised a laugh in our home as although I can cook, I really don't enjoy it. I could though, change my mind after using these stylish and tactile bowls.
I've been thinking for some time to write a series on my blog called #BoysBasics where I can teach my boys about all the basic skills they will need to stand on their own two feet, look after themselves and not rely on others too much on the domestic front. So to kick off I thought it would be a good idea to combine the Joseph Joseph products with Jarvis making his first ever apple crumble. Now I know this is not exactly an essential skill (making a pudding) but all men love a good pudding so why not !
The set of Nest bowls consist of a four piece mixing bowl set with a very cool and inspired egg-yolk separator. We didn't need to use the egg-yolk separator for the crumble so set it to one side. The three bowls all sit really snugly inside each other for easy space saving storage but also a great look. Each bowl has a integrated metal egg cracker on the side and a non slip base which was an added bonus when the boys were using them.
Jarvis cut up the apple first putting it into one of the bowls, he then set to work on sieving the flour into the largest of the three bowls.
Using the Nest measure spoons, Jarvis carefully measured out the brown sugar. He absolutely loved these measuring spoons. The way they all click easily into each other. They feel sturdy and the quality is clear to see. I feel for sure we will use and use these products for many years to come. Again the colours and the design are inspired.
The spoons come in an eight piece set consisting of a 1/4 tsp up to 1 cup in measuring size.
Adding the sugar to the sifted flour.
Chopping up the butter
Adding the butter to the flour and sugar
Mixing the butter into the flour, sugar mix
giving the apple and sugar a stir
Pouring the mixture into the bowl
Topping with the crumble mix
Scatter of brown sugar for luck and into the oven
Ta Dah ! The end result and yes it really did taste as good as it looks. Well done Jarvis, you have passed the first #BoysBasics and thank you so very much to JosephJoseph for the beautiful products.
