the Nordic style is timeless, simple and oh so elegant. I recently happened upon a wonderful website called Stenvall interiors belonging to a lady called Hanna. Specialising in importing furniture from Sweden (and France) Hanna transforms the pieces with paint and upholstery in soft muted colours. The website is a true feast for the eyes.
