Winter White Ski Lodge Style

Its that time of year when all the festivities are over, the weather is usually grey, wet and cold and all most of us want to do is curl up until spring arrives.
Some are fortunate enough to be able to jet off to the ski slopes to continue the holiday feeling.  If like me, you can't afford to do that,  you can still bring the gorgeous, cosy ski lodge feeling to your home with a few simple ideas.

Most of us probably spend a bit more time in bed at this time of year.  Cuddling down under lovely layers of beautiful white quilts, blankets and throws.  Propped up by tons of pillows and cushions.  Pop a sheepskin rug on the floor next to where you get out of bed for that "Oooh feeling" when you do finally drag yourself out of bed.

Faux fur throws are all over the high street at the moment.  Add a luxurious feel and look to your bedroom for not too much money.  One of the easiest ways to change the look of your bedroom is with different throws throughout the year.  I have winter and summer throws in all our bedrooms.

I love this look.  We have lots of wooden clad walls like this in our home.  Its easy to put up and looks lovely painted white with a peg rail running around the top.  Great for hanging chairs, pictures, bags , spare blankets anything really.  I always have flowers in the house all year round or if I can't afford them, I cut some foliage from the garden. It reminds me spring/summer are just around the corner.

Don't forget to pile up the throws and cushions on your chairs and sofas .

What wannabe ski lodge would be without lots of cosy blankets to snuggle under on those cold winter nights.  I love these huge chunky knit blankets.  You can find similar on Etsy.

ahhh heaven

Candles are another must for creating the ski lodge feeling in your home in winter.  Lots and lots of candles.  Best only to have a few scented ones though otherwise it can become a little overpowering.

Foliage wrapped around candles is a cheap and simple idea.

I'm off to snuggle down under a throw and spend some quality time with my twins.
