The first thing I have to say about this post is "OMG the cushions covers are off the sofa ! "

How could I have taken photographs for a blog post with no covers on my furniture. Well, now we have that out of the way, I have to admit this is a great shot of Jarvis flying the Air Hogs Switchblade. We were recently sent the Air Hog to review and the twins were very excited to receive a toy again. Its been a while since we were toyologists. They were not best pleased with me when I moved from a mainly family blog to more homes and interiors. Anyway back to the toy in question.

The Air Hogs Switchblade is a ground to air racing heli. The concept is that children can race each other along the floor and then switch to flight mode if they encounter obstacles. The boys found that it was better suited to indoor use as it is very light but saying that it is surprisingly sturdy, as initially they had a few crashes getting to grips with learning how to use the radio controller. There are clip on spoilers which help to stabilise it when using it on the ground. It moves really quickly on the ground but also manages to hover really well which both boys loved. Even big brother got in on the act. I could imagine they would be great fun if you had more than one to play with. Would recommend that they are used by children from about 8 years onwards though, as you do need a certain level of hand eye coordination.

There are several styles available and two colours. You also need 4 AA batteries.

It retails for around £35 and is available in toy shops and larger supermarket chain stores. I would definitely say its a good mid range value toy. Ideal for indoor play at Christmas time .
