Interior home magazine photoshoot

I've been approached on numerous occasions over the years to have my home featured in an interior home magazine but never felt it was up to the scrutiny of those beautiful glossy pages full of immaculate homes and stylish interiors.

Trying not to go into a total meltdown over the impending visit of the photographer from Ideal Home magazine this week, I decided to have a little retail therapy and treat myself to some new bits for my home.

LSA International

I have a bit of an obsession with beautifully designed home wares.  Just when I think I have the perfect combination of new and vintage items arranged around my home,  I discover another piece of perfect white gorgeousness that just has to fit in somewhere.

The Leesa mattress for children

We can often overlook the importance of a mattress when it comes to the quality of sleep for our children.  A mattress should be like  a well made pair of shoes.

Camerich contemporary furniture

I am still on the lookout for that one unique piece of statement furniture to complete my living room.  Its the one room left in the house that I feel has an unfinished look about it.  Because of the layout of the room and my reluctant agreement to a large screen tv (I do live in a house with four men) there is a limit to how I can position furniture.

Thrifty bedroom makeover

My bedroom has always been a bit of a dumping ground for laundry, stock and generally stuff that I just didn't want to look at.  I have tried over recent years to regain some order, especially as I am often sent bedroom related items to review.

The White Approach Candle

I was just a little bit excited today when a delivery arrived.  It was a box full of beautifully scented candles for my soon to be re-launched website.

Lene Bjerre at Houseology

I came across the Scandinavian brand Lene Bjerre on Houseology recently and immediately fell in love with their classic design style.

DIY white stool makeover

Although I no longer paint or renovate furniture for a living, I still enjoy an occasional project.  When I saw two badly decoupaged wooden stools in a local Devon charity shop I knew they would be a quick and easy DIY painting project.

the white approach online shop

Returning to work in a "proper job" leaves me very little time these days to indulge my passion for bargain hunting and tracking down stylish affordable items for the home.  When I do find something and post it on my social media, I am often asked where or if it can be bought.

April #Stylewise

The trouble with having eleven year old twin boys is they no longer want to go anywhere in the school holidays.  Its a real trial trying to encourage them out of their bedroom and away from the computers and gadgets !  So I decided to take myself off yesterday for a bit of a mooch around the local charity shops in Heavitree and Topsham.

Tips for Decorating with White

When people see my home for the first time they always exclaim "how do you keep it clean"  or "I could never have an all white home with my children" .

Front Door Makeover

How long have I been married ? and blogging ?  and how often have I reminded my husband to PLEASE take before photographs if he is going to embark on some DIY when I am out !

It's finished ! The kitchen / dining room Renovation

When we moved into this house ten years ago this month, life seemed like it couldn't possibly get any worse.  We had lost our main source of income, I was on maternity leave with six month old twins

Iconic Lights - Poul Christiansen Style Light

I have to admit to having a bit of a "thing" about beautiful light fittings.  They really are the finishing touch to a room.  No matter how much time or money you spend on your home, if you don't get the lighting right it can ruin the overall look.
